The antibiotics is the medicine which is able to control the bacterial infection and not the viral infection because the antibiotic is based on the principle of breaking the cell wall of the bacteria as bacteria has its own biochemicals and the virus doesnot have its own biochemicals and when enters the host body it acts as living organism.

Hii..
Antibiotics are only a cure to only bacterial infections .Using them agains viral infections is just a waste.
They destroy bacterial cell wall easily but against a virus the viral envelop is same as the host cells so they are unable to harm it .
