Suspensions and colloids are alike because they don't pass through filter papers and they are different because only suspensions psss through semi permeable membranes

A suspension is similar to a colloid except that the dispersed particles tend to be larger and will eventually settle or form sediment. Sand in water could be an example of a suspension: if shaken then the sand will disperse in the water, but if left alone it will settle at the bottom.
Both are liquid. Both will pass from filter without solution. You can see through a solution, as the ions of the solute are dissolved. A colloid is a suspension of insoluble ultra microscopic particles or large molecules in water or other liquid, kept in suspension by Brownian motion
