They occupy the same position on a chromosome and affecting the same characteristic but in alternative ways.

Example :

As we know that plant is tall, it shows that (T) has expressed itself either in (TT) or(Tt) condition. In case of dwarf plant,dwarfness is due to expression of same gene but different allelic form (t) & only in recessive condition (tt).
