Alluvial soil is formed by the deposition of materials and sediments brought in by the rivers contains silt etc. they are highly populated areas.

Advantages....

(1) they have good amount of phosphorus, sulfur etc. due to enormous amount of crop produce.

(2) they cover India's 49% (appr.) land and densely populated due to its productivity.
