alveolis are specially designed for maximum exchange of gases.....the following are the adaptations.....similar as those of intestinal walls(villi)......

•They are richly supplied with blood capillaries.....

•They have a huge surface area.....this can be proven by the fact that they occupy 80 m² area!

•They are made up of a single layer of epithelium hence they are designed for maximized gas exchange
