The chemical substances produced by microorganisms which inhibit the growth or even destroy microorganisms are called as Antibiotics.

Examples of antibiotics used in our daily life:

Ampicillin and amoxicillin mainly used to cure infections like respiratory track etc.

Olfoxacin - Used to treat bacterial infections like urinary track infection.

Chloramphenciol - It is rapidly absorbed from gastrointestinal tract and hence can be given orally in case of typhoid,dysentery,acute fever and urinary infections and pneumonia.
