Bark is a non technical term used for the tissues outside the vascular cambium.
It is found in old woody plants.
It is divided into inner bark and outer bark. Outer bark consists of dead tissues and inner bark consists of living tissues.
As the plant matures , the outer layer epidermis is replaced by bark tissues.
