  • Work of waves can best be seen in the coastal areas. The depositional action of the sea waves results in the formation of beaches. The sand, gravel and pebbles brought by the waves are deposited in the coastal areas forming lovely beaches.

  1. Beaches are made up from eroded material that has been transported from elsewhere and then deposited by sea.For this occur ,waves must have limited energy,so beaches are formed in sheltered areas like bays. Constructive waves build up beaches as they have a strong swash and a weak backwash.
  2. Salt water is denser than freshwater due to sodium chloride dissolved in it. This means that a specific volume of saltwater is heavier than the same volume of freshwater.warmer saltwater is lesser dense than colder saltwater,which results in the colder water sinking to the ocean floor.
