how are block mountains formed? how are they different from fold mountains?

when two plates on the earth crust diverge or get pulled apart fracture appear on the earth surface these fracture s are called faults . when two faults are formed alongside each other, large area get displaced vertically along the two faults line.The land between the fault lines either subsides or rises.The uplifted part of the land is called block mountains.It is different from fold mountain because fold mountain are formed by upliftment and folding of land masses due to lateral compression caused by tectonic or internal forces.
