cactus are generally called CAM plants these are plants which open there stomata at night and perform c4 cycle very late

these are adapted as phylloclade

At night time,no photosynthesis occurs and hence no O2 is produced,O2 diffuses into leaves to carry out respiration.And co2 produced by respiration diffuses out into air

So,the net exchange in leaves at night is:O2 diffuses in;co2 diffuses out
