the chief minister and all the other concerned ministers are accountable to the public because of the following reasons:-

1. India is a democratic country. Each person has the right to vote. The majority vote winning party forms the government and one of its leaders become the chief minister. So they are accountable to the public because they are it's representatives.

2. Elected leaders or mla's have to hear the grievances and problems of the public and should take appropriate actions to solve them or prevent them.

3. They should take initiative to provide quality services to the general public. Policies and laws should be passed for common good and not for satisfying the needs of a select set of people.

4. Steps should be taken to eradicate social problems like poverty, unemployment, social exclusion etc. They should work for the welfare of the society.
