Clouds are converted into rain through the following process:

  • The water in water bodies evaporates and becomes water vapor. This water vapor being hot rises up. This water vapor accumulate together and form clouds.
  • Now clouds can get heavy due to over-accumulation of water vapor when they turn greyish in color. At the same time, there is a decrease in atmospheric pressure.
  • As a result, the water vapor condenses and fall down as rain. These rain replenish the water supply of the water bodies again. And this forms a part of the water cycle.
