The key difference between the prosthetic group and coenzyme is that the prosthetic group tightly binds with the enzyme to assist the enzyme while the coenzyme loosely binds with an enzyme to support its catalytic function. Prosthetic groups can be organic molecules or metal ions while coenzymes are totally organic molecules.
