Depending upon the type of the particles of the dispersed phase , colloids are classified as : Multimolecular , Macromolecular and Associated Colloids
(a) Multimolecular colloids:
The colloids in which the colloidal particles consists of aggregates of tons or small molecules with diameters of cells than 1nm are called
multimolecular colloids
(b) Macromolecular:
These are the colloids in which the dispersed parties are themselves large molecules (usually polymers)
(c) Associated colloids(Micceles):
Those colloids which behaves as normal strong electrolyse at low concentration but show colloidal properties at higher concentration due to formation of aggregated particles of colloidal dimensions
Such substances are also referred to as associated colloids
