How are conduction and induction alike and how are they different?

They are alike because they both require movement of charge.
Conduction is the transfer of electrons from one object to another object by direct contact.
Induction is the movement of electrons from one part of an object to another as the result of the electric field of a second object.

Conduction and induction are similar because they are both a method of transference of electrons from one body to another.

However the basic difference between conduction  and induction is the method of movement of these electrons.

While in conduction, the electrons are transferred via direct physical contact between the two bodies, in induction the transfer of electrons is due to the presence of an electric field around the second body
