decomposers and scavengers are very important because decomposers break down dead things into the soil for nutrients to the plants, which help us breath, scavengers in this world are like the clean up crew for the environment, like buzzards, they eat dead things, to help get rid of whatever sitting there, scavengers and decomposers are at the top of the food chain, but decomposers are outside of the food chain. :)
