How are drones betters than rovers?

Answer:
- Martian atmosphere is too thin to generate enough thrust that can make a drone fly (recall Newton’s Third Law). So, it will be difficult (not impossible) to achieve a lift in the Martian atmosphere, or at least not with the regular Earth drones.
- It will also be difficult to perform scientific experiments with the drone as the scientific payload will increase the weight of the drone. But a rover is capable to carry scientific payload.
- Further, the priority of the conducted missions were more focused on to study martian soil rather than performing a flight. A drone mission to Mars might not be as successful as rover.
