Biodiversity means the the number of species (both plant and animal) present inna particular area or locality.
Extinction is the condition of a species when a species become completely diminished from the earth.
So extinction means lossof biodiversity. If due to climate change or indiscriminately hunting or sudden earthquake,a particular or a large numbers of species become extinct then loss of diversity occurs.
If no extinction occurs then biodiversity remains safe.
This is the relationship of biodiversity and extinction.
