Digestion of fats takes place in the small intestine. The bile juice which is secreted by liver when reaches the small intestine acts on fat molecules.Bile juice is essential for digestion of fats since it breaks the fats into smaller droplets so that enzymes could act on it. First the fats are broken into diglycerides and monoglycerides. Then the intestinal juice break downs this monoglycerides and diglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol.
