Fats are digested in the small intestines.the secretion of liver, called bile, breaks down the large globules of fat into smaller globules.the bile also makes the medium alkaline so that the pancreatic enzyme containing lipase further digest fats to form fatty acid.so the process take place in the small intestines

Dear Student,

◆ Digestion of fats -

  • Digestion of fats takes in small intestine (more) and stomach (less).
  • Small amount of fat is digested in the stomach with the help of acid lipase.
  • Remaining fats when enter the duodenum, bile acids are secreted from the gall bladder.
  • This bile helps in formation of micelles i.e. emulsification required for digestion of fats.
  • After this, it is digested by pancreatic lipase in small intestine.

Thank dear. Hope this helps you...
