Aquatic plants grow in three distinct patterns that describe how the plants do or do not affix to the soil at the bottom of the water body. Floating plants unlike submerged and emerged plants, do not have fixed roots and therefore requires little effort to safely remove and place into another body of water.

There are two types plant , according to their root binding phenomenon.

1)Fixed plants & 2) Floating plants

1)Fixed plant's roots are permanently fixed in the hard soil, from where it soaks necessary nutrients and water.

On the other hand

2) Floating plant's roots are loosely situated in the liquid substance, from where it soaks water and other nutrient requirements.
