A floating plant pond is a modified maturation pond with floating (macrophyte) plants. Plants such as water hyacinths or duckweed float on the surface while the roots hang down into the water to uptake nutrients and filter the water that flows.

Hope it helps.....

Floating plant pond is modified maturation pond with floating plants.

Water hyacinths or duckweed float on surface but roots hang down into water for pulling nutrients and filter water flowing across.

Some little aquatic animals use plants i.e. duckweed for protection from predators but areas with more vegetation are likely to have maximum predators.
