Flood plains is the area of alluvial deposits found beside the river due to flooding and meandering. The flood brings fine sands and silts along with it , gets deposited around the plain. Similarly meanders erode away the valley slowly and create a wide valley floor , deposit alluvial , fine silt , along the sloops. The fine alluvial builds up into a flood plain.
