Forests play an important role in the life of all living organisms. Without forests we can not expect life on earth. Importance of forests are given below :-

  • Forests provide us wood , rubber , herbs , charcoal, oil , bamboo , tans, dyes ,gums and many other products which are very important for our survival.

  • They provide us oxygen without which we can't imagine life.

  • They give shelter and habitat to all the organisms living on earth.

  • They give shelter to nearly 300 million people worldwide, including an estimated 60 million indigenous people whose survival depends almost entirely on native woodlands.

  • They take out carbon dioxide and help in bringing rain.

  • They also prevent soil erosion and heavy floods.
