Fossils are collected because of their scientific value. They are remains of animals, plants and other organisms from the remote past. Fossils are very fragile and therefore they must be protected while transported. Cloth, cotton, boxes and aluminium are used to protect fossils being transported.

Protection of fossils for transport:

  • Fossils are collected because of their scientific value. They are remains of animals, plants and other organisms from the remote past.
  • Fossils are very breakable and therefore they must be shielded while transported.
  • Cloth, cotton, boxes and aluminum are used to protect fossils being transported.
  • Organisms decayed more quickly when they are in touch with oxygen.
  • When an organism is buried speedy, there is small decay and the better the chance for it to be conserved.
