✍️These lines are numbered with two digits. A 4-figure number can show you which square a location is in. The first two numbers are called the easting and they're located at the bottom of the map.

When maps are made there are grid lines placed vertically representing eastings and horizontal lines representing northings. These lines are numbered with two digits.
