Acoording to the theory of plate tectonics , the earths crust was initially a super gaint continent called pangea . its northern part was the angara land and its southern part was the gondwana land. The conventional current made split this earth crust into number of pieces , thus leading to the drifting of the indo Australia plate after being separated from the gondwana land , towards north. The North ward drift resulted in the collision of the plate with the much larger Eurasian plate . Due to this collision , the sedimentary rocks which were accumulated in the geosyncline know as Tethys were folded to form mountain system of western Asia and Himalaya.
