Latitudes and longitudes are the imaginary lines drawn on the globe.

Latitudes are horizontal lines and longitudes are vertical lines.

There are 180 latitudes in total except 0° latitude and 360 longitudes.

0° latitude is called equator and 0° longitude is called prime meridian.

Equator divides Earth into two hemispheres-northern and southern whereas prime meridian divides Earth into Eastern and Western hemispheres.

Prime meridian is also known as greenwich meridian.
