We inhale air through our nostrils where it is filters with the help of fine hairs and mucus that lined the nostrils.
From there the air is transferred to the lungs. In the lungs the tube called alveoli is present, a balloon like structure where the exchange of gases take place. The carbon dioxide from the body is transferred to the lungs while the oxygen is exchanged within the lungs.
