The minerals are mainly formed in igneous and metamorphic rocks when molten lava forces itself up the cracks and crevices of these rocks and cools down while nearing the surface. The lava contains several kinds of minerals and these minerals on cooling in the cracks of the rocks becomes a part of these rocks. minerals like lead, copper, zinc, tin etc are found in igneous and metamorphic rocks due to this reason.

Minerals may be found in the cracs, crevic, joints in igneous and metamorphic rocks.

The smaller occurences are called veins and the larger loades. They are formed when mineral in liquid and gaseous forms are forced upward through cavities towards the earth surface. Some major minerals are tin, copper, zinc and lead etc.
