Fixing mistakes can be very easy although long process in a democracy. First of all in a democracy mistakes cannot remain hidden for long. Secondly, people are in power and they have the power to hold discussions about the mistakes and correct the mistakes. In the end, after the public pressure and without any support from other parties, ruling party has to change their decision and it fixes the mistake. Otherwise ruling party will not have any more votes in the upcoming elections.
