Mountains acts as a type of barrier from the strong winds...eg Himalayan mountains....
it also helps in protecting a country from foreign attacks.......

mountains are very useful to us as
1) water coming from mountains are useful for irrigation of fields.
2)it protects our country.
3) it is a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
