The main type of movements in plants are growth dependent movements and growth independent movements , Growth dependent movement involves cell division , regulated by growth hormones and is slow process eg= bending of stem towards light .Growth independent movements involves change in shape of cells, regulated by in out movement's of water and is a quick process eg= movement of leaves in touch me not plants.

The touch me not plant is also called chhui mui. It belongs to the Mimosa family. When we touch them, they begin to fold up and droop. The leaves of this plant move very quickly in response to touch. There is no growth involved in this movement.
