Oxygen and carbon dioxide are transported in human beings through pigment called heamoglobin inside the Red Blood Corpuscle of the blood and through lymph .

Oxygen that is inhaled enter into the alveoli passing through various layers and eventually into the blood by diffusion and the heamoglobin receives it . It forms a complex with haemoglobin called oxyhaemoglobin and is carried to all the body cells requiring oxygen to respire .

The bi-product of respiration i.e. carbon dioxide is formed . It forms another complex called carboxyhaemoglobin and diffuses out of the lungs. In this way , human beings respire .

Explanation:

ANSWER:-

CARBON DIOXIDE:-

As Carbon Dioxide is a soluble component , so it mixes with blood and mixed with haemoglobin, forms carbaminohaemoglobin, which is further taken by the lungs for external respiration .

OXYGEN:-

Oxygen has higher affinity with haemoglobin , and forms oxyhaemoglobin which is taken in as per requirement by the organs of the body.

More Terms :-

Affinity:-

  • This means capability of getting mixed.
  • You will be shocked to know that , CO or Carbon Monoxide has the highest affinity to mix with haemoglobin
  • This takes place very fast
  • That is why when pollution happens the carbon Monoxide from fire crackers mix
  • And hence these develop respiratory diseases which may lead to death.
