There is no direct relationship between Porus and Chandragupta Maurya. However, according to Indian history, the Mauryan empire was established by Chandragupta Maurya just after Alexander established his presence in Northwestern India.

Chandragupta Maurya wanted to fight against Alexander but he did not have enough resources. So, he decided to seek the assistance of Porus who was the ruler of the neighboring kingdom of Gandhar. Only Porus was capable of fighting against Alexander. His strength increased with Chandragupta Maurya’s support. At the beginning, Porus had the upper hand. Unfortunately, his elephant suddenly became wild and was out of control. As a result, he lost the battle to Alexander who later signed a treaty with him. When this happened, Chandragupta Maurya decided to part ways with Porus.

Well, according to historian  there was no  direct relationship between Porus and Chandragupta Maurya  . Bith was the ruler of there own areas . The porus was the ruler of Gandhar Kingdom while the Chandragupta was the one who make  base for the Mauryan Empire. The Chandragupta  Maurya was willing to fight with Alexander  but lack of enough support led him to join hand with Porus who was quite capable of fighting and defeating the alexender. So finding each other support they go for war with alexander  But after the result of war both of them separate again.
