rainbow is made by refraction of sunlight during rain

when white light falls on droplets on water different colours in white light have different frequency so each colour refracts at different angle so we can see rainbow

A rainbow is caused by sunlight and atmospheric conditions. Light enters a water droplet ,slowing down and bending as it goes from air to denser water . The light defects off inside of the droplet,separating into its component wavelengths or colours when light exits the droplet it makes a rainbow .
