Roots are very important for the plant because they suck the water and nutrients up out of the soil and into the plant. But the roots are not only good for the plant, they are good for soil. When it rains, the roots hold the soil in place so it is not washed away. When soil gets washed away it is called erosion.

2.Xylem transports and stores water and water-soluble nutrients in vascular plants. Phloem is responsible for transporting sugars, proteins, and other organic molecules in plants.

3.Name the plant tissue which helps in carrying the food to different parts. Phloem also is known as bast tissues in the plants that conduct food made in leaves to all other parts of the plant. It is composed of various specialized cells called sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres, and phloem parenchyma cells......

Roots help the plants by-

  1. They help in absorbing the moisture from the soil.
  2. They help in germination of seeds.

Xylem vessels carry water and dissolved minerals.

Phloem is the plant tissue which helps in carrying the food.

Semipermeable membrane is a type of biological or synthetic, polymeric membrane that will allow certain molecules or ions to pass through it by diffusion—or occasionally by more specialized processes of facilitated diffusion, passive transport or active transport.

Osmosis is a process by which molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one.
