Somaclones are developed by sexual reproduction as they are identical to their parents so called clones but develop from somatic cells so called somaclones. Hybrids are produced when crossing the same variety of parents and homozygous dominant or recessive progenies or hybrids are formed

Soma clones: These are produced through micro-propagation or tissue culture. They are genetically identical to the parent plant, e.g., apple, tomato or banana.
Somatic hybrids: These are produced by fusion of protoplast of two different plants.
