Answer:

We obtain natural fibres from nature without or minimum chemical usage for example plants, animals and minerals. Synthetic fibres are artificially created by using petroleum products through synthesis or different chemical reactions.

Natural fibers are an integral part of human life since long back. The faith we have in natural fibres is more than synthetic materials. Everybody prefers to buy natural fibres, and we are still hesitant to replace our all clothing needs with synthetic fibres because of various advantages of natural fibres over synthetic fibres.

The reasons of cost variation are

Demand and supply.( for Synthetics rawmaterial and production is available in large)

Resources the raw material for synthetic materials is crude.

Natural fibres demand more human effort and a large area for cultivation and harvesting. On the otherhand, natural resources are depleting(Water Scarcity | Threats | WWF ).

Increasing population and urbanization favors the higher cost of natural fibres.

Least interest of agricultural and animal husbandry practices making natural fibres costlier.

200 years ago there were less than one billion humans living on earth. Today, according to UN calculations there are over 7 billion of us. PRB estimates that by 2050 about 113 billion people will have ever lived on Earth.

The price of any product depends largely on production costs, supply and demand situations mainly. The production of costs of synthetic costs is much lesser than the natural one. Also there are huge supply abilities and hence generally synthetic fibres are cheaper. But not all synthetic fibres are not cheaper for eg. Cupramonium rayon, whos manufacturing is very critical and costly is one of the expensive regenrated Fibers.

Most of the commonly used synthetic fibers (polypropylene, polyester, nylon) are way cheaper than natural fibers but if you go for regenerated synthetic fibers like viscose and PLA, it will be at par of slightly costlier than natural fibers. Where as high end synthetic fibers like kevlar, aramid, spandex are way costlier than natural fibers.

Answer:

Synthetic fibres are very strong and more durable.

They absorb very little water and dry up quickly.

They are wrinkle resistant and quite lightweight.

They are less expensive and readily available.

The clothes made from synthetic fibres are easier to maintain.
