Every time we smile, frown, talk, or eat, we use our mouths and teeth. ... When we eat, our teeth tear, cut, and grind food in preparation for swallowing. The tongue helps push food to the teeth, and allows us to taste the food we eat.

There are different types of teeth in our mouth. These are meant for different purposes. We have teeth for biting (incisors) , tearing (canines) , grinding (premolar and molar). A total of sixteen teeth in each half of our jaw, helps in masticating our food. Such finely crushed food we taste with the help of the tongue. In so tasting the food we come to know which food we should eat which one is harmful to our body. With out mastication of our food we eat ,we cannot taste our food. so teeth our vital to our well being.
