The most common type of female gametophyte (embryo sac) is the Monosporic embryo sac in which the embryo sac develops from a single functional megaspore(n) while the other three magaspores degenerate.

Hope it helps you...

ANSWER:

The embryo sac is female gametophyte of the flowering plant.

The cells of the embryo sac are arranged in following manners:

  • Two nuclei are formed when the 'nucleus of the functional megaspores' (n) divides mitotically which results in formation of two nucleated embryo sac
  • The further mitotic division results in 'formation of 4 nucleate' and then '8 nucleate' stages of the embryo sac
  • The polar nuclei is formed from the each nucleus which moves towards the middle.
