The poet sees that in every house the children are staring at the television screens. The children were concentrating at the television and were totally immersed in it. They spent so much time watching it that they get exhausted and start feeling lazy. They lie down in the wrong posture and become sloppy.
He is upset because the kids are all staring at the television until their eyes popped out. They could lose their ability to think creatively and they were not interacting with each other.
