How are the day in the south during January

If this is a geography question then only follow this :-

During January the southern hemisphere is facing towards the sun while the northern hemisphere , due to the tilt of earth's axis , is far apart in the dark side . The Southern hemisphere thus receives direct rays of the sun and the weather is therefore ( I mean ) the days are much warmer in the south during January than that in the northern hemisphere .
