Ordinary bill – Both houses participate in a joint session or sitting if there is a difference of opinion between the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Usually, the views of the Lok Sabha are enforced as it has more number of members.

Money bill – Issues relating to this bill can be represented only in the Lok Sabha although the Rajya Sabha can make its own recommendations. However, the word of the Lok Sabha is final. The Rajya Sabha  can delay the passing of the bill by a fortnight. If it goes beyond this period, the bill gets passed automatically.

A bill deemed to be money bill if it contains “only provisions dealing with imposition, abolition, remission, alteration or regulation of any tax”. An Ordinary Bill can be introduced in any of the Houses of Parliament while money bill can only be introduced in the Lok Sabha.
