Farmers in the village of palampur are able to grow more crops in the same land because:-
1.With the help of modern farming methods:-
a)Multiple cropping - This is a common way which the farmers are using to increase production from the same piece of Land. In palampur, jowar and bajra are grown and potato is a third crop.
b) Modern machinery- More crops can be produced from the same piece of land by using modern machineries. The use of simple wooden plough can be replaced by tractor s and threshers can also be used to harvest the crop which increases yield per hectare
2. By using hyv (high yielding variety seed) farmers are able to produce more crops. The normal variety of seeds can only produce about 1200kg of produce but with hyv seeds the produce will be about 3400kg of produce
