i) Punjab Himalayas : The westernmost part of Himalaya is located between the river Indus in the West and Satluj in the East. This is called Punjab Himalaya (also called Kashmir Himalaya and Himachal Himalaya).

(ii) Kumaon Himalayas : The western part of the Himalaya which is situated between the Satluj river in the West and Kali river in the East.

(iii) Nepal Himalayas : It lies in between Kali and Tista rivers.

(iv) Assam Himalayas : The eastern most part is located between the river Tista in the West and Dihang in the East.

(v)  Purvanchal Hills : It is the north-eastern extension of Himalayas.

(vi) The Himalaya bend sharply to the South and spread along the eastern boundary of India.
