1. The oldest landmass of India Peninsula was a part of Gondwana lsland.
2. The Gondwana land included India, south Africa, Australia, south America as one single landmass.
3. The conventional current splits the current into a number of pieces thereby leading to the drifting of Indo-Australian plates after being separated from the Gondwana land towards north.
4. The northward drift resulted in the collision of the plates with much larger Eurasian plate.
5. Due to this collision the sedimentary rocks which are accumulated in the geosynlines is known as a Tethys were folded to form the mountain system of western Asia, an Himalayas.
