The hot desert characterises the Sandy, less vegetation, dryness and high diurnal temperature range whereas cold desert represents cold weather, snow covered surface, low diurnal temperature range, less vegetation, etc.
Examples of Hot desert are: The Thar desert of India, the Taklamakan of Mongolia and China, Atacama desert, etc.
Examples of Cold desert are: Antarctica, Greenland, etc
