Birch bark peels because it has alternating layer of thick- and thin walled cork trees. The tree bark refers to the tissue outside the vascular cambium. The inner bark is composed of secondary phoelm which generally in transport for one year. The second type of laterally ( nonapically) called cork cambium which develop in some of the cells of the other phoelm and form cork cells.
