The members of the Lok Sabha is elected directly by the people of India by voting in direct election on the basis of Universal Adult Franchise. There are 552 members in Lok Sabha out of which 550 are elected directly by the people of India and 2 Anglo-Indian members are appointed by the president.
Qualifications for a person to be member of the Lok Shaba are-
(i)-He should be a citizen of India.
(ii) He should be atleast 25 years of age.
(iii) His name should be in the voter list.
(iv) He must possess such other qualifications as prescribed by the Laws of the Parliament from time to time.
